Privacy policy

How African Brands Congress collects, uses and protects your personal data.

Last updated: 25 October 2026

Who we are

This policy applies to the African Brands Congress website (africanbrandscongress.org). It explains what personal data we collect when you register, send an enquiry or use the site, and what we do with it.

What we collect

We only ask for what we need. Please do not put sensitive details, such as health or financial information, in message fields.

  • Registration form: full name, email address, phone number, organisation, job title, country, sector and, if you choose to tell us, how you heard about ABC.
  • Contact form: name, email address, subject and your message.
  • Exhibitor, sponsor and award enquiry forms: name, email address, phone number, company, role or category of interest, and your message.
  • Technical data: your IP address and basic request details, recorded by our hosting provider. We use your IP address to run the site and to limit repeated or spam submissions.

How we use your data

  • To manage your registration and email you a confirmation with the date and venue.
  • To reply to your enquiries.
  • To send you Congress updates.
  • To keep the website secure and prevent spam.

Who we share it with

Your details are seen by the ABC team members who manage registrations and enquiries. We also use trusted third-party service providers to host this website, store our records and send emails. They handle your data on our behalf and only for these purposes.

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose it if the law requires us to.

Transfers outside Nigeria

Some of our service providers may process data on servers outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we only use providers that apply appropriate safeguards to protect your data, in line with applicable data protection law.

How long we keep it

To be announced

How we protect it

  • Forms send your details over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
  • Registration records are held in a Google Sheet that only named ABC staff can open.
  • Service credentials are kept in secure server settings, not in the website's code.

If a personal data breach puts your rights at risk, we will report it and tell you as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of your personal data;
  • correct data that is wrong;
  • delete your data;
  • restrict, or object to, how we use it;
  • give you your data in a portable format; and
  • stop using it, if you gave us consent and now withdraw it.

To make a request, email us at the email address to be confirmed.

Children

This website is for business professionals and is not aimed at children.
